Today I decided I was going to get back on the genealogy bandwagon. I wanted to discover some things that I found to be fun and enjoyable in the past.
I remembered a few years ago ordering a DNA kit, spitting in a tube and sending it in. I decided to see those results again.
Yep! There they were.

No big surprises. Then, there is the part that says, relatives.
- Josh -son
- Tonya- sister
- Andrew- close family-1st cousin or half brother
Wait a minute!!! A half brother? I am 49 years old and I find out I may have a half-brother?
Turns out Andrew is my dad’s son and he was adopted as a baby. No one said anything back in the day (early 60’s). Andrew emailed me asking me a few questions and it turns out he had all of the right facts. Unfortunately, he didn’t know my dad goes by a nickname and not many people know his real name.
I am not sure how I feel some days knowing I have a half brother. It hasn’t really changed my life too much. It’s kind of weird thinking there are another one of us kids when my whole life there has only been 3 of us. I mean I guess they’re still are only three but…you know what I mean, right?
