These were my words a few short months ago. I love soda. It tastes good and has a little added benefit of a caffeine boost. Yum!
Let me just start by saying I started drinking caffeine about 1.5 years ago when I started working nights. I worked from about 4-1030 or 2-11pm. It was hard to do that and then get up at 530am and be mom all day. So, I started drinking caffeine.
I have had the hardest time giving up soda. I have been so incredibly reluctant.
Well, I have a friend who also shares my love for soda and we decided to cold turkey it together.
I started last Sunday and he started Tuesday morning. I am not gonna lie. Monday was hard. I was jittery, I had random sharp pains in my head and it was so hard to sit through my meetings.
Well, I haven’t lost any weight on a scale but my bloating is significantly reduced. I also noticed my craving for sugar is decreasing. I never even linked soda to a sugar craving. It is not that I don’t want anything sweet like candy but, it is definitely reduced.
I am now drinking 72 oz of water consistently. I also am CRAVING water. I love it. It is so refreshing. It is so satisfying. It fills me up, quenches my thirst and yum!
So, after one week, I am getting my own natural energy back. I am feeling great too.
This week, I am focusing on working out every. single. day. I use the workout 21 day fix. After 21 days, I restart it and continue it. I mean, how can I resist a wonderful whole body 30 minute workout?
Week by week, I will do things that will make me happier and healthier. I am doing my best NOT to weigh myself (I tend to obsess over that a bit). Instead, my focus is doing small consistent things to make me healthy.
So there you have it…want to join me in my challenge? Follow along on my Facebook page thilltribe-the grass isn’t greener or on here. Every Saturday, I will post what I am adding to my healthier lifestyle or if I need to try harder on the same one.
I am not comparing myself to anyone but me. Let’s take a journey together…
