I have been very quiet about politics because I don’t like to debate. I don’t enjoy the constant battlefield that politics brings. I get disgusted when you are conservative and you can’t voice your opinions without people calling you names. They imply your are stuffy, ignorant and a variety of other names.
However, what I do know is we have a new President of the United States. What a job!! one I am very glad I DON’T have. I am saddened by the reaction of the media and the people who did not vote for President Trump.
I started thinking about Hitler (as POTUS has been referred to). Hitler was a disgruntled man. He was into creating a perfect race of people. He tortured and killed men, women and children. However, he did not do that alone. He had lots of people who believed in what he stood for. How does this relate? Well, in my convoluted way I was thinking about the reaction of the people after the election.
I was thinking “Aren’t they the ones who are bringing anarchy and destruction to this nation?” Now, I neither agree nor disagree with having him as our President. I am just in shock on how the media and people are behaving. Riots? Angry mobs? Media Blasting him at every opportunity? What kind of people are we becoming?
I am in no way suggesting we should not disagree but how we disagree really sets the stage for how we represent ourselves. How have the residents of the United States represented themselves?
Let me try and explain the whole Hitler part.
I think it is the people that make the difference. You can have corrupt leaders. You can have anger and disagreements. However, Hitler wouldn’t have been “successful” if he didn’t have followers. You can’t be the only one that hates and have everyone else feel you anger. You need collusion with other people. You need them to feel hatred. you need them to feel scared. You need to create an environment that fosters the fear people have.
I hope that makes sense.
What would be the harm in first seeing what he does for the country. I wasn’t a fan of President Obama, nor President Clinton. I didn’t riot. I chose to see what good they could bring to the country.
President Trump has been playing to a much different audience than he is now. he has needed to be a certain way to get more viewers and ratings. Now, that he is the President the people who gave him the ratings, are berating his every move.
It is the people who make the difference. We can unite together for truth. We can unite together for equality. We can be united in many aspects but, divided our country will not succeed. Divided will only bring about more contention, more hatred and more violence.
United is our only option for success. The people are who really make the difference. Isn’t it time we became the kind of person we want to see in the world?
