Sometimes I have a hard time believing how big my kids are getting. This year, I was watching 2 of them interacting with their families. I was watching spouses cuddle, tease, laugh and of course EAT.
I love having the time together and seeing the love that binds them. It is more than a last name, it is more than blood, it is family. We were only missing one this time. It was sad to know her chair was empty.
I think what I was most grateful for today..is today was no different than yesterday or tomorrow. I am still grateful. I still give thanks. I recognize the blessings in my life. I appreciate the special gifts, talents and struggles we each have.
It was great to have a meal together with my older kids in attendance. My parents were also here visiting from Michigan. It was a great meal that John produced. There was a wonderful nap involved too. 🙂
It was probably one of the most chill and relaxed Thanksgivings ever. Football was watched, pie eaten, dishes washed, movies and games.
I am so thankful for the opportunity I have been given to be a mother, daughter, wife, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, great-aunt, and grandma. There is really nothing better than that.
