In the morning I drop our son, Josh(who is 17) off for school. Josh and I always have fun talking about things and me teasing him about girls. Josh and I usually get along just great. This morning was no exception except that he kept switching the radio stations over and over in the hopes of finding his favorite song before school. We laughed about him changing the stations. Then, I dropped him off. I usually like to watch him walk into the school.
Because like all my kids, I love that boy. I am amazed at his personality and love the goodness inside him. well, he gave me his usual hug and kiss. Then he tells me how much he appreciates all that I do and especially for taking him to school each day.
Then, I watch him walk to the door. There is another girl and guy walking to the door too. I see Josh speed up his walking to get ahead of them. Then, he reaches out and holds the door open for the young lady and walks inside behind her. My heart right then starts to swell with the pride that only a mother can feel when her children do such extraordinary things. Of course, then I started misting over a little when I realized that my boy is growing up and will soon be moving on with the next chapter of his life. I then begin to think that I sure have been blessed to have such a wonderful person in my life.
*Update: This young man is now 21 and amazing. He is currently dating a beautiful young lady, has recently bought a house (he is our neighbor 🙂 ) and has a good job. He is currently serving in the US Army reserves as well. Josh still holds doors for women and is doing all that he should be doing. This boy makes his mom and dad proud.
Love your blog.
Thanks Elaine. It is definitely a work in progress, I keep losing my pictures in my slider bar. I will figure this out though. I think it is going well.
